Renowned author and activist, Victoria Brittain, will embark on a speaking tour of South Africa visiting various venues in Johannesburg and Cape Town between 11 - 19 February 2014.

About the speaker:
Victoria Brittain is a journalist and writer. She has spent most of her working life in Asia, Africa and the Middle-East, writing for The Guardian and various French magazines. She has been a consultant to the UN on the impact of conflict on women, also the subject of a research papaer for the London School of Economics. Her most recent work is Shadow Lives, she wrote a verbatim play, Waiting, with the words of the wives of Guantanamo Bay and other prisoners. She was co-author on Moazzam Begg's book, Enemy Combatants. Her other books include Hidden Lives, Hidden Deaths and Death of Dignity. Victoria is on the council of the Institute of Race Relations, the board of Widows Rights International, and is patron of the Palestine Solidarity Campaign in UK. She was also a well-known activist in the British anti-apartheid movement.
